Typical use
Mount on a pole or wall at the end of an outdoor cable run. The extender is powered by the incoming PoE line and passes data and power to two PoE cameras nearby, so a single cable from the building can serve two outdoor cameras.
Notes before ordering
- IP66 depends on the cable glands being fitted and tightened on every port, including unused ones.
- The extender adds no power of its own. Total power for both cameras is limited by the upstream switch port, minus cable loss.
- Rated for up to 100 m of cable from the switch to the extender and up to 100 m from the extender to each camera, a total reach of up to 200 m. Use solid copper Cat5e/Cat6.
